【LLP 仏教について学ぶ会〜成仏も修行も、意外と私たちのそばに〜】

日本時間2025/10/21 21:00より、今年度VPIである札幌医科大学医学部4年の式部蓮自身が信仰している、日蓮宗並びに創価学会についての講演を10名の参加者に対してしていただきました。
LLPでは、宗教について学ぶことを目的としたイベントを企画しており、今回念願の開催となりました。
式部さんには創価学会の理念やご自身の宗教観だけでなく、医療現場での患者それぞれの信仰に対しての対応の仕方など、医療関係者として大事な考え方も教えていただきました。

参加者からは
「仏教信仰をしている方の習慣などが新鮮だった。」
「昔、創価学会についてあまりいい印象を持っていなかったが今回のお話で印象が変わった。」
など好意的なご意見をいただきました。

今後はキリスト教やイスラム教についても触れる企画を実施していく方針です。

[LLP: Study Session on Buddhism — “Enlightenment and asceticism Are Closer Than You Think”]
At 21:00 Japan Standard Time on October 21, 2025, Ren Shikibu, a 4th-year student at Sapporo Medical University School of Medicine and this year’s Vice President for Internal Affairs (VPI), delivered a lecture on Nichiren Buddhism and Soka Gakkai, which he personally practices, to 10 participants.

In LLP, we had been planning events related to religion, and this session was a long-awaited first. In his talk, Mr. Shikibu explained not only the principles of Soka Gakkai and the religious perspective, but also important ways of thinking for healthcare professionals, such as how to respond to the respective faiths of patients in a clinical setting.

Participants shared positive feedback, including: “It was eye-opening to learn about the habits of someone who practices Buddhism,” and “I used to have a somewhat negative impression of Soka Gakkai, but this talk changed how I see it.”

Going forward, we plan to hold events that also explore Christianity and Islam.
